It had been too long. Todd, Chris, Scott, Stephen, Christian, Brett, Tom and I hadn't all been together since our high school days, I refused to let these friendships fade like distant memories.
It had been too long: too long since we all sat around a table and played cards; too long since we talked about the women who were and weren't in our lives; too long since we sang karaoke, too long since we all met at the park to throw a football.
I was always the ringleader of the group. I organized the trips, provided the food, drinks, hospitality and anything else that was necessary for an unforgettable weekend.
Every few weeks I talked to at least one of my old high school buddies. They all sounded well, but unfortunately stressed. The change of lifestyle and accepting the responsibility of becoming an adult was beginning to cause most of my pals to tense up. Life's smallest daily stresses were beginning to get to them.
